Rhodium Applications

The main use is in Platinum-based alloys production with 7, 10, and 30% Platinum for glass melting apparatus; crucibles manufacturing in optical glass and single crystals production; as an protective coating on electrical contacts; reflective coating of mirror surfaces; in reflectors, technical glasses, precision measuring instruments; highly useful catalyst in a number of industrial processes: notably it is used in the catalytic system of automobile catalytic converters, hydroformylation, olefine and acetylene hydrogenization and HNO₃ production; thermocouple-sensing elements for high temperatures, 1570°K (Pt-Rh), up to 2570°K (Ir-Rh).
